School & Nursery Outreach

Many children spend most of their day in education settings, and that is often where the impact of sensory, neurodevelopmental, and functional difficulties is felt most acutely. Our school and nursery outreach service brings specialist Occupational Therapy expertise directly into those environments, helping schools and nurseries understand what they are seeing and what to do about it.

For SENCOs: If you are supporting a child whose needs are not yet fully understood, or looking for whole-school strategies to better meet sensory and neurodevelopmental differences, our outreach service offers the clinical expertise and practical guidance to help you move forward with confidence.

What Outreach Involves

  • Outreach visits to observe a child in their education setting: across the classroom, playground, and structured activities; which gives our therapists a picture that a clinic environment alone cannot provide.

  • Sensory audit of the school or nursery environment, identifying sensory factors that may be affecting a child's participation, regulation, and readiness to learn.

  • SENCO consultation to discuss individual children, whole-school strategies, and how best to embed support into existing provision.

  • Staff training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) on sensory processing, neurodevelopmental differences, and practical support strategies, equipping the team with tools they can use every day.

Outcomes

  • A written outreach report with specific, practical recommendations tailored to your setting.

  • A sensory audit report where commissioned.

  • Ongoing consultation available by phone or email following a visit.
