Early identification matters. At Hopscotch, we work closely with early years settings to understand what a child is like in their natural environment, and to support nurseries in getting the right help in place as early as possible. The earlier a child's developmental needs are identified and addressed, the better the long-term outcome.
What We Offer Nurseries

Occupational Therapy assessments for children of concern, carried out with parental consent and with close communication back to your setting.

Outreach visits to observe a child within their nursery environment, which gives our therapists insight that a clinic setting alone cannot provide.

Advice on reasonable adjustments and inclusive practice for children with sensory, motor, or communication differences.

Staff training on early identification of sensory, motor, and communication needs, building your team's confidence in spotting and responding to developmental differences.

What We Can Train Your Team On
Our staff training and CPD sessions are delivered by experienced paediatric Occupational Therapists and tailored to the needs of your setting. Sessions can be delivered as one-off twilight workshops, half-day or full-day training, or as a series spread across the academic year.
Early Years (For Nurseries & EYFS Staff)

Sensory development in the early years and how to support it through play.

Building independence skills: dressing, toileting, eating, and self-care routines.

Pre-writing and early fine motor skills.

Recognising early signs of sensory or motor difficulties, and when to refer.
Bespoke Training
We also design bespoke training to address specific concerns within your setting, whether that's around your particular cohort, an emerging need across year groups, or an upcoming Ofsted or SEND review.
