Parent & Carer Training
Therapy doesn't stop when the session ends. The strategies, insights, and goals developed in clinic are most powerful when they are carried into everyday life. That means the adults around a child/young person need to feel confident and equipped to do that.
Our parent and carer training is designed to give you exactly that. Whether you want to understand your child's sensory profile more deeply, learn how to implement their home programme, or simply make sense of a report that's been sitting on your desk, we are here to help.
What Training Looks Like
-
Individual parent coaching sessions of typically 60 minutes, available at the clinic or remotely: focused on your child, your questions, and your home.
-
Practical training on implementing the home programmes developed by your child's therapist, so you feel confident putting strategies into practice between sessions.
-
Group parent workshops on a range of topics, bringing together families who are navigating similar challenges in a supportive, expert-led environment.
Topics We Cover
-
Understanding sensory processing differences: what is actually happening in your child's nervous system, and why it matters for how you respond.
-
Sensory regulation strategies for home: practical, realistic tools for the moments that are hardest: morning routines, mealtimes, homework, and bedtime.
-
Understanding your child's EHCP and how to use it: demystifying the document and helping you advocate effectively for your child.
-
How to help your child practise therapy goals at home without it feeling like homework: because the best home practice is the kind that doesn't feel like work.
